About

Robert Sulatycky

Robert Sulatycky is a Michelin-starred chef with more than 30 years of experience at the highest levels of luxury dining in North America. His career spans some of the continent's most acclaimed kitchens, including the Relais & Chateaux Bacchus Restaurant at the Wedgewood Hotel in Vancouver, Truffles Restaurant at the Four Seasons Toronto, and Seasons Restaurant at the Four Seasons Chicago.

He simultaneously led the culinary teams at two Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond properties, the Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel Air. His tenure as Executive Chef at Madera Restaurant at Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, California earned him a Michelin Star.

Beyond the kitchen, Sulatycky is one of the most influential figures in competitive culinary coaching in North America. He competed as Canada's national chef at the Bocuse d'Or World Cuisine Contest in Lyon in 1999, winning the prestigious Prix Viande for Best Meat Platter and finishing fourth in the world — the highest placement in the competition's history for a North American entrant at that time.

He later returned as Head Coach for Team USA, guiding the team to a silver medal in 2015 and a historic first-ever gold medal in 2017, as well as Bocuse d'Or Americas Continental Selection gold medals in 2018 and 2022. He has worked alongside Thomas Keller and Daniel Boulud in mentoring the next generation of American culinary talent through the Ment'or BKB Foundation.

Sulatycky is also the co-founder of Mithra Winery on Mount Veeder in Napa Valley and the president and co-founder of iQKitchen Inc., a culinary technology company. His cooking philosophy centers on what he calls the complexity of simplicity, allowing exceptional ingredients to speak for themselves through precise technique and artful presentation.
